The Story of Pelham Puppets
By David Leech

During the 1950s and 1960s thousands of Pelham Puppets were being produced and sold every week and many youngsters took up puppetry in a big way, and with help and encouragement from the Pelpup Club, formed groups and staged shows for friends at schools and parties, so much so, that many chose to pursue careers in show business or other avenues of theatre and television.
For others, the puppets became such treasured possessions when they were children and lucky enough to own some of them that they have now become collector’s items.
