David Leech has made puppets for TV, theatre and pantomime and can offer custom made, one-off puppets to order.

Should you wish to have a specific puppet made, please email me at: david@pelhampuppets.uk.com with your initial enquiry. I will make a puppet tailored to your own specification and requirements and provide a no-obligation quote.

Generally speaking, bodies are made from wood and fully jointed. The Pelham Puppet style control is used unless another style/design is requested. Heads are made from a strong, long lasting paper mache supported by an internal wooden cross-bar.

Prices vary of course and range from around £75+ for a “Pelham size” (12”/30com tall) puppet up to around £600 for a larger working marionette.

Usually a deposit is required for work to commence and the balance payable once the work is complete. Once completed, you will receive a photograph of the puppet(s) and once payment has been confirmed it will be sent by “Tracked and Signed For” Royal Mail Special Delivery. (Larger puppets are occasionally sent by Parcel Force.)

If the price is more than £200 monthly instalments can be arrange to meet the final cost.

Lead time for production will also vary, but the aim is to complete the Order within two to three weeks. Although in the run up to Christmas time this may take longer.

If you require the puppet(s) by a certain date, please let me know at the time of initial enquiry and I will do my best to meet the agreed deadline.
